SPRINGFIELD, Va. — ENSCO, the international rail, aerospace, and security firm that will be taking over operation of the Federal Railroad Administration’s Transportation Technology Center, is holding a free public webinar on Wednesday, Feb. 23, to outline the services and capabilities it will offer to railroads, transit agencies, and suppliers at the Pueblo, Colo., facility, as well as answering questions.
Three one-hour sessions are planned to provide scheduling flexibility for those wishing to participate, with session 1 at 9 a.m. EST, session 2 at 1 p.m. EST, and Session 3 at 8 p.m. EST.
Registration is available here.
ENSCO landed the contract to conduct research, engineering, testing, and training work at the Transportation Technology Center in March 2021, taking over operations currently handled by Association of American Railroads subsidiary TTCI [see “Digest: Developer’s agreement with Metra …,” Trains News Wire, March 10, 2021]. That transition will begin in April, with full operations in October 2022.
More background on the Transportation Technology Center is available at this page on the FRA website.
In conjunction with this move is the move of the TTCI functions to a brand new center outside of Pueblo…allegedly currently under construction.
