OTTAWA, Ontario — Five current members of the VIA Rail Canada board of directors, including chairperson Francoise Bertrand, have been reappointed to the board, Canada’s Transport Minister announced Thursday.
“I am very happy to congratulate the accomplished individuals who have been reappointed to the Board of Directors,” Transport Minister Pablo Rodriguez said in a statement. “With their vast knowledge of the rapidly evolving transportation sector, they will continue to provide quality advice and leadership for our national rail services.”
Bertrand, chair of the nine-person board since spring 2017, was reappointed for 18 months, effective Oct. 12 of this year. The other reappointments were effective as of Sept. 25. They include Kenneth Tan of Richmond, British Columbia, a board member since June 2017; Grant Christoff of Vancouver, B.C., a board member since March 2019; Miranda Keating Erickson of Calgary, Alberta, a board member since March 2019; and Daniel Gallivan of Halifax, Nova Scotia, a board member since June 2017. All are reappointed for four years except Gallivan, reappointed for three years.
