CHICAGO – The North American Rail Shippers Association annual meeting, scheduled for Sept. 7-9 at the Sheraton Grand Chicago, will feature presentations from four Class I railroad chief executives.
Confirmed speakers include BNSF Railway CEO Katie Farmer, Union Pacific CEO Lance Fritz, Kansas City Southern CEO Pat Ottensmeyer, and Canadian National CEO JJ Ruest.
Surface Transportation Board Chairman Martin J. Oberman, who has been outspoken about rail competition, service, and staffing levels during appearances at recent shipper and investor conferences, also is scheduled to speak at the event.
Also on the agenda: Bruce Chinn, chief executive of Chevron Phillips Chemical Co., a major rail shipper of petrochemicals and plastic resins; American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association President Chuck Baker; and independent rail analyst Anthony B. Hatch.
The event, being held in partnership with the Traffic Club of Chicago, kicks off with a golf outing at Cog Hill on Sept. 7 and an opening reception that evening. Conference sessions run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 8, followed by the NARS reception and the Traffic Club of Chicago annual dinner.
The conference concludes on Sept. 9 with sessions that run from 8 to 11 a.m.
