FORT WORTH, Texas — Full TEXRail service to downtown Fort Worth has been restored as of 4 p.m. CDT after a disruption earlier today because of a freight train derailment, transit agency Trinity Metro said in a Twitter post.

Service between the normal terminus of TEXRail service, the Fort Worth T&P Station, and the North Side station, had been replaced since about 5 a.m. by a bus bridge because of the derailment. The bus bridge also served an intermediate stop, Fort Worth Central.

KDFW-TV reports the derailment occurred on tracks adjacent to the TEXRail route, near the intersection of Decatur Avenue and 23rd Street. A photo on the station’s website shows a derailed flatcar near the TEXRail tracks.

— Updated at 5 p.m. CDT with restoration of service, additional information.
