DARIEN, Conn. — Arielle Giordano has joined Genesee & Wyoming Inc. as the vice president of government and industry affairs for its U.S. operations, the company announced Tuesday, Sept. 3.
Giordano most recently was assistant vice president of U.S. government affairs for CPKC, addressing government relations at the federal, state, and local levels. She held a similar position for Canadian Pacific before the merger with Kansas City Southern and previously was counsel for the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials.
“Arielle’s proven, solutions-focused rail industry experience across federal, state and local levels make her an ideal fit to lead our critically important Government & Industry Affairs team, which plays a key role in G&W’s efforts to be the safest and most efficient freight-rail service provider for our customers and communities,” Matt Walsh, the company’s executive vice president of corporate development, said in a press release.
Look at her accomplishments so far; and she is only 34.
Interesting. That was the same age as William N. Deramus III (later at KCS) when he started managing the Chicago Great Western.
