WÜRZBURG, Germany — If you’re missing your Easter Bunny, you apparently left it on a train in Germany.
Passenger rail operator Arverio reported a rabbit was found in a transport box on Thursday at the end of its morning trip from Treuchtligen to Würzberg.
“It was not possible to determine who had brought it onto the train,” the company said in a press release. “Since it is also unknown whether the Easter Bunny even has an owner, this fact, combined with the timing, strongly suggests that it was the Easter Bunny on its way to work.”
Federal police are now taking care of the animal and have released the mug shot at left.
“Arverio assumes that the Easter Bunny has now arrived at his workplace and still has enough time until Sunday to complete his tasks,” the company concludes.
Arverio, a subsidiary of the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB), operates German routes in the states of Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. Würzberg is the northernmost point on its Bavarian network, approximately 172 miles northwest of Munich.
