INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Rail Road Santa Train begins its annual journey across the railroad today (Friday, Dec. 6), with stops scheduled in 12 communities over a three-day period.
The Santa Train, launched in 1989, is an all-volunteer event providing cold-weather gear to families in need. At all stops but today’s initial location, in Bargersville, Ind., visitors are invited aboard the train to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus aboard the railroad’s vintage passenger cars. Today’s event at Bargersville, scheduled for 4:30 p.m., sees Santa arrive by train for a visit with guests at Bargersville Town Hall.
The rest of the train’s schedule is below; more information is available at the Indiana Rail Road website or Facebook page.
