KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Oscar Del Cueto, president of Kansas City Southern de Mexico, has been appointed president of the Mexican Railroad Association (AMF) by unanimous vote of the association board of directors, KCS announced.
It is his second term as president, following one in 2020-21.
Del Cueto joined KCS de Mexico in 2006 and held a variety of positions before becoming president in August 2020. He was a key figure in the railroad securing its concession in Mexico, which began in 1997 and ecently received a 10-year extension until 2037 [see “KCS de Mexico receives 10-year extension …,” Trains News Wire, July 20, 2022].
Del Cueto is a member of the Mexican Council of Foreign Trade of the Northeast and the board of the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico. He has a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in business from the University of Monterrey and a certificate from the Management Rail Program at the University of Michigan.
