LOS ANGELES — LA-area commuter rail operator Metrolink has marked its 30th anniversary by introducing a new logo, intended to emphasize its role as a vital transportation link in Southern California.
The logo was unveiled Wednesday, Oct. 26, the anniversary of the first Metrolink run, which the operator also marked by handing out commemorative pins and other memorabilia to passengers boarding trains at LA Union Station.
“We are grateful every day for our riders, yet today, as we mark Metrolink’s first rail trip 30 years ago, it’s especially important that we show our gratitude to customers for their continued support,” Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle said in a press release. “And as we address the changing needs of our riders, our communities and the planet, it was time to refresh our logo and put a sharper focus on how Metrolink connects riders to the people and places that matter to them most.”
Metrolink is also marking the 30th anniversary by offering a 30% discount on its monthly pass for the remainder of 2022. More information is available at the Metrolink website.
Wow. Like most new logos we see today, completely unimaginative and boring.
