WASHINGTON — Maryland’s MARC Train and Virginia Railway Express will operate on reduced schedules on Tuesday, Jan. 7, as the Washington, D.C., area continues to feel the impact of a significant winter storm.

Both operators suspended all service today (Monday, Jan. 6) based on the weather and the decision of the federal government to close all offices because of the storm.

On MARC’s three lines, only trains marked with an (R) on the timetables will operate. (Schedules for each line are available here; timetables are available by clicking on the individual lines.) One round trip not included in the R schedule will also operate: On the Penn Line, trains 455 (an 8:45 p.m. from Baltimore Penn Station) and 454 (a 10:05 p.m. departure from Washington Union Station). MARC’s service advisory is available here.

VRE will operate on similarly reduced “S” schedules. VRE schedules are available here.
