CAMARILLO, Calif. — The home of Metrolink CEO Darren Kettle is among those destroyed in the Mountain fire, a wildfire fueled by high winds that has whipped through Ventura County, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The house was destroyed Wednesday, after Kettle and his wife had heeded an evacuation order.

“When I left the house, I saw smoke and flames, and it looked like it was blowing in a different direction,” Kettle told the Times. “… The only thing left standing of our house is the two chimneys. It’s just shocking, traumatic.”

One house next to the Kettles’ was destroyed while one on the other side was still standing, the Times reports.

As of Thursday evening, the Times reported 132 structures had been destroyed and another 88 damaged by the fire, which had spread to more than 20,400 acres and had led to evacuations or warnings for another 5,000 homes. At that point, it was only 5% contained.
