SAN CLEMENTE, Calif. — A modified Pacific Surfliner schedule because of landslide issues in San Clemente has been extended at least another week, through Friday, Feb. 16, according to the updated Travel Advisory page on the Surfliner website.

The modified schedule, available here and described in detail on that advisory page, includes two outright cancellations in each direction and a number of trains starting or terminating short of the slide zone, as well as trains offering a bus bridge around the San Clemente site. Those using the bus connection are advised that reservations are required as seats are limited, and early reservations are recommended. Passengers are also advised that the Market Café may not be available on all trains while the modified schedule is in effect.

Surfliner service has been disrupted, and Metrolink commuter service to Oceanside has been suspended, since a Jan. 24 slide near the San Clemente Pier. While officials have determined that they will build a protective wall at the slide area, details of that project have yet to be determined, and there is no estimated date for the resumption of regular service.
