BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The National Museum of Industrial History and Reading & Northern Railroad are partnering for a July excursion by Budd Rail Diesel Car, featuring the first visit by an excursion train to Tremont, Pa., in more than two decades.
The July 29 trip, departing from Outer Station in Reading, Pa., at 9 a.m., will visit Tremont, Minersville, and Port Clinton, Pa. In Tremont, the train will make photo runbys on the median of Cres Street and visit the Anthracite Mine Rescue Station for tours of its facility and rescue truck. In Minersville, the train will make a lunch stop, with passengers able to choose from a ethnic buffet-style lunch at the train station or a meal at the historic Washington Hotel. And at Port Clinton, passengers will tour the Reading & Northern steam shop, featuring a close-up look at recently restored 4-8-4 No. 2102.
Ticket are $112 for National Museum of Industrial History members, $125 for non-members, with an additional $15 for the optional lunch. More information and a link to purchase tickets are available here.
