CHICAGO — Today (April 9) is the last day for the early-bird registration fee for the North American Rail Shippers conference, to be held May 7-9 in Chicago.
CSX CEO Joe Hinrichs leads the list of speakers scheduled to take part in the North American Rail Shippers Conference, set for May 7-9 in Chicago. The registration fee increases to $625 on April 10.
The event, with the team of “A Time for Resilience,” will be held at the Swissotel Chicago.
“With trade and business in a state of rapid change this meeting will be a great opportunity for leaders to take the pulse of the railroad industry,” NARS President Kate Bourgeois said in a press release.. “With participants from all sectors — including shipping, regulatory, supplier, and carriers — the exchange of ideas and information will be beneficial to everyone who attends.”
Also scheduled to appear are Ed Elkins, Norfolk Southern chief operating officer; Patrick Fuchs, Surface Transportation Board chairman; Anthony B. Hatch, independent analyst at abh Consulting; Eric Starts, CEO of FTR; Todd Tranausky, logistics procurement manager at AmSty; John Turner, senior vice president of operations at Union Pacific; Tom Williams, chief marketing officer, BNSF Railway; and Rebecca Wingate, CREATE program manager, Association of American Railroads.
The event will also feature Dilla Thomas, a storyteller on Chicago history known with a large social media following, and a first-time event, a Chicago pizza and history tour networking event. That event, on May 7 starting at 12:30 p.m., will cost $150 and benefits the NARS Patrick J. Ottensmeyer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
