Logo of Gulf & Atlantic RailwaysJACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Gulf & Atlantic Railways is the new name for the holding company known as RailUSA, which is overseeing its two key properties — the Florida, Gulf & Atlantic Railroad and Grenada Railroad — from a new corporate office in Jacksonville.

“We are taking a long-term approach that is heavily focused on investing in our team’s safety and well-being, as well as the integrity of our facilities,” Gulf & Atlantic CEO Ryan Ratledge said in a press release. “While the RailUSA name and brand date back only a few years, we want a name and logo that is unique to us and our new phase of growth.”

The new corporate offices are on the St. John’s River near downtown Jacksonville at 245 Riverside Ave., Suite 250.

The Florida, Gulf & Atlantic operates 430 east-west route-miles along the Interstate 10 corridor between Baldwin and Pensacola, Fla., with a branch from Tallahassee, Fla., to Attapulgus, Ga. It interchanges with CSX Transportation at Baldwin and Pensacola, with AN Railway at Chattahoochee, Fla., and with the Bay Line Railroad at Cottondale, Fla.

The Grenada Railroad, in central Mississippi, operates 280 north-south miles along the Interstate 55 corridor between Canton, Miss., and Memphis, Tenn., and interchanges with six Class I railroads.

  1. Not a Flamingo but a Sand Hill Crane in the logo.
The Crane is native to Florida while the Flamingo is not.

  2. Yet another rail HQ in Jacksonville.

    – CSX
    – Patriot Rail
    – G&A
    – Jaxport Rail

FEC used to have the HQ in Jax, they moved to the hi-rent district for better golf down south

G&W has an office in Jax, so does XORail.

Must either be the weather or the golf courses.

    1. More often than not, Trains newsletter does not show a helpful system RR map or link such as the above article. Thanks for listening.

    1. Until just a few years ago the station in Grenada looked like the last time the City of New Orleans called was yesterday, not 20+ years ago.

  3. Maybe the Gulf and Atlantic would be interested in picking up a few bucks by hosting the Sunset Limited back into Jacksonville?
