CLEVELAND — Alco PA No. 190 continues its journey east to its new home with Genesee Valley Transportation in Scranton Pa. On Monday, May 15, it was photographed in downtown Cleveland on the former Nickel Plate (now Norfolk Southern) main line, crossing the Cuyahoga, River.
The locomotive was restored by preservationist Doyle McCormack and acquired by Genesee Valley in March [see “Genesee Valley Transportation prepares for move …,” Trains News Wire, March 20, 2023]. It will be used by GVT’s office-car train and other special excursions once it is fully returned to operating conditions.
Sweet shot!
👍
Brent Lane, great line up of engine and logo on the bridge. Kudos sir!
Different management at NS would have had the NKP heritage unit coupled to the 190. It’s a little thing but the little things add up.
Great picture of a very handsome locomotive.
Lovely composition!
