KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Southern presented a check for $504,530 to the American Red Cross on Monday in support of global Red Cross efforts to address the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

KCS announced in March it would donate $500,000, as well as match employee donations to the American Red Cross for its response to the crisis. “The entire world sees the escalating humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and we want to support the international effort to provide relief,” KCS president and CEO Patrick J. Ottensmeyer said at that time.

  1. Excellent humanitarian example of a generous railroad, it’s executive officers and it’s employees. Congratulations on the opportunity to link North America with our neighbors. This offers unlimited transportation business and fair trade among our railroads of today. It’s refreshing to see a railroad that proudly serves their customers and actively strives to connect new businesses with our transportation network. PSR needs re-thinking. Place your customers before the stock holders. Two and three mile long freight trains are dangerous to us all. Bring back our trains.
