boring, would be better with one person reporting.
Mr. Moss: In due respect, what Mr. Symonds implied was that there was far too much time spent on this weeks edition of Trains News Wire Round-Up discussing Amtrak food service and very little on important issues that transpired in the rail industry. I agree!
….if you want to EAT go to an EATING PLACE…..
TRAINs are for getting from PLACE to PLACE ……
………what a lot of hog wash
Mr Symonds, when I take a 2 day trip on one of the western trains, I don’t plan on suspending my apatite for 2 days, and I don’t want to eat snack food for 2 days. If you want to brown bag it for 2 days, that is your choice, don’t try to impose your absolutist ways on others.
In regards to Amtrak food service, they definitely need to go back to full service where trains run long distances. That’s one of the key draws for passengers. Decent meal service and foods that taste better than cardboard should be a given. Whomever decided differently is trying to put Amtrak out of business. Also, if this gov’t shutdown doesn’t come to an end, the UP 4014 as well as other steam operators may not get to see their engines run because steamers need boiler inspections and cab cards renewed in order to operate.
Breaking Fake News: Kalmbach announced today it is launching a new magazine entitled TrainFood&Drink. The premiere issue will be discussed in depth on Model Railroader Video Plus. On the program you will learn how to prepare your very own Box Lunch based on the ones Amtrak hands out to it’s long distance passengers on several of it’s trains. Be sure and invite family and friends to watch this exciting new program. It’s bound to be lot’s of fun, especially for the kids!
Come on guys. Like Earl Symonds says: GET REAL!
Always enjoy seeing Brian Solomon on the News Wire!
