KAMLOOPS, British Columbia — No injuries were reported after an apparent head-on collision between a Canadian Pacific train and a CP hi-rail pickup truck Thursday morning near Kamloops.
Video on the CFJC-TV website shows the truck was destroyed by fire. Chief Ken Uzeloc of Kamloops Fire Rescue told the station that first responders arrived to find the truck on fire, and said no hazardous materials were involved, as the train consisted of empty grain hoppers.
The Canadian Press reports the collision occurred about 10:30 a.m. Canadian Pacific said the incident is under investigation.
Seems like CP an CN have a problem with hi-rail vehicles. Read a article on here a few weeks ago of hi-rail vehicle being hit on CN when it was blocking a switch in Nov. 28 2020
