ATLANTA — Norfolk Southern has named Betsy Talton-Buck as vice president and chief communications officer, and Angie Kolar as vice president and chief compliance officer.
The appointments, announced Friday, March 15, are effective on Tuesday, April 9. Both positions report to Nabanita Nag, executive vice president, corporate affairs and chief legal officer.
Talton-Buck was previously at Delta Air Lines for 20 years, most recently as vice president-global public relations and reputation, developing experience in crisis and reputation management, brand building, and employee engagement, the railroad says. Kolar will oversee business ethics and compliance functions and will work closely to advance the railroad’s safety culture, NS says, serving as a key advisor to leadership on matters of regulatory compliance and compliance culture. She was previously at Colonial Pipeline for 20 years, most recently as senior vice president, operations, EHS [environmental health and safety], and compliance.
“Betsy will play a critical role in driving competitive value for Norfolk Southern. Her transportation background, strategic approach, and ability to partner throughout the organization will make her a strong partner,” Nag said in a press release. “Angie’s extensive experience in compliance, operations, and finance will be invaluable to our enterprise and senior leadership team.”
