STOCKTON, Calif. — The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating an injury accident that occurred earlier this week at the Port of Stockton, the agency said today (March 14, 2025).
The accident occurred on Tuesday, March 11, during a re-railing operation, the board said on social media.
KOVR-TV reports the NTSB declined to provide information on the extent of the injuries to the individual involved. A preliminary investigation report will be available within 30 days.
The port is served by BNSF Railway, Union Pacific, and the Stockton Public Belt Railway, operated by the Central California Traction Co.
Strange that someone hasn’t said anything about what derailed. Not much of a news station. I’m sure it was either an engine or a car
For some reason, there doesn’t seem to be any information on the internet about this!

It would have been nice to know what derailed…🤔

There was apparently a personal injury in concert with this derailment so the FRA will investigate that…not at all unusual.
Could the 2 switchers in the photo of the article be EMD SW1500 belonging to Central California Traction Co.?

As is known, the NTSB does not investigate every railroad crash or derailment. Of course, we will learn in time why it investigates this particular incident.
