BOSTON — A person was killed Friday after becoming trapped under a Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority Orange Line train, reportedly after stumbling and falling into the tracks.
WFXT-TV reports emergency crews were called to the Jackson Square MBTA station in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood about 12:45 p.m. Friday after a victim was found on the tracks. The individual was declared dead at the scene.
Boston police homicide detectives and the MBTA Transit Police Department are investigating. The name of the victim has not been released.
“On behalf of the TPD and the entire MBTA organization, we offer our most sincere condolences to the decedent’s family and loved ones,” said TPD Superintendent Richard Sullivan.
This must be fixed. Undependable service is the number one reason passengers will abandon using trains for their first choice to get where they want to go.
