PHILADELPHIA — The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority is modifying operations for the Super Bowl championship parade on Friday, Feb. 14 — and will offer free rides on two rail routes thanks to a Philadelphia Eagles sponsor.
The parade is set to begin at 11 a.m. at the Eagles’ stadium, Lincoln Financial Field, with a ceremony at the Philadelphia Museum of Art from 2 p.m. to approximately 3:15 p.m. The city has detailed the parade route, road closures, and related details in a press release.
The 12.9-mile, 28-station Market-Frankford Line and the 12.5-mile, 25-station Broad Street Line will both be offering free rides thanks to a tequila company, Gran Coramino. Those routes will see trains every 6 to 8 minutes. Only a limited number of stations — on those lines and others — will be open “to safely move the large crowds into the city,” according to a SEPTA release that details station availability.
Regional Rail routes will run on limited and modified schedules from 4:30 a.m. to 10:50 p.m. Bus routes will be detoured on and around Broad Street, the main parade route, beginning late Thursday evening. SEPTA advises following its feed on X.com and the System Alerts on its website for up-to-date information.
PATCO, the Port Authority Transit Corp., will also operate on a modified schedule with limited stations on its route between Lindenwold, N.J., and Philadelphia’s Center City, beginning at 4 a.m. PATCO estimates it will see about 80,000 passengers, four times its normal weekday ridership. It will offer westbound-only service on approximately 15-minute intervals from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., and eastbound-only service from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Normal fares will apply. More details are available here.
Some minor corrections here.
The Eagles play at Lincoln FINANCIAL Field, as in the company Lincoln Financial.
The city has not DERAILED the parade route, it has DETAILED the parade route.
Downtown Philadelphia is CENTER City, not CENTRAL City.
Fixed. Thanks.
