MONTREAL — Canadian National announced Tuesday that the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference has ratified a new contract agreement covering approximately 160 CN rail traffic controllers in Canada.
The agreement, ratified on Dec. 23, is effective through Dec. 31, 2025 and includes wage increases of 3% in 2023, 3% in 2024, and 2.5% in 2025, as well as other benefits, the railroad said.
“We are pleased to have negotiated a new collective agreement before the expiry of the previous one,” CN CEO Tracy Robinson said in a press release. “We are committed to working with our railroaders and their union representatives to create a workplace where employees thrive and together, we deliver better and safer service to our valued customers.”
Inflation is at 7%. What a joke. CN is making record profits, due in part to increased shipping costs. A contribution to inflation. 3% & 2.5% pay raises, I would have voted no. I guess I know what CN will offer us in the running trades. I will vote no when that time comes.
