RINA, multinational certification and engineering firm, acquires Patrick Engineering

Logo of certification and consulting firm RINAGENOA, Italy — RINA, a multinational inspection, certification, and engineering consulting organization, will enter the North American infrastructure market following its acquisition of Patrick Engineering Ltd., a Chicago-based engineering consulting company specializing in infrastructure, transport, and renewable energy.

The acquisition announced Monday brings RINA an organization with 19 offices and 340 employees, mostly in the northeastern U.S. Patrick Engineering, founded in 1979, will become part of RINA Consulting, the RINA Group’s engineering subsidiary.

“The acquisition of Patrick Engineering and the combined expertise of the new organization represents a unique opportunity for expansion and growth in the thriving North American Infrastructure market,” RINA CEO Ugo Salerno said in a press release. “It establishes an excellent platform not only in this sector, but also to grow all RINA’s businesses to make the US one of RINA’s main hubs.”

RINA has more than 5,300 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries, and provides a wide range of services in energy, transportation, certification, mobility, infrastructure, and real estate. More information is available at its website.
