BOSTON BAR, British Columbia — Twelve cars of a CPKC grain train were sent into the Fraser River by a rockslide on Sunday, Dec. 22, CTV News reports. No injuries were reported.
A Canadian National spokeswoman told the network that the incident occurred on the CN main line near Boston Bar. CN and CPKC operate paired trackage along the Fraser River canyon in what the railroads call the Directional Running Zone, with CN’s line handling westbound trains and CPKC’s for eastbounds. A YouTube video of the scene shows some cars partially submerged in the river, with others having spilled their cargo on the river bank.
Work to restore the line to operating condition was continuing today (Dec. 23) with an expectation that service would resume before the day was over. CN’s Ashley Michnowski said in a statement that “cleanup of the derailed railcars and grain will continue over the coming days and weeks.”
Global News reports a total of 15 cars derailed in the incident approximately 4½ miles from Boston Bar about noon, according to the Transportation Safety Board of Canada.
C’mon folks. Let’s take a little more time and effort proofreading and editing.
“some cars partially submerged spilled into the liver”
….I don’t know where to even begin with that sentence. It’s sad to read what Trains has become, and probably made using A.I. (It wouldn’t surprise me if it was written that way!)
Who shrunk the cars so that they would fit into a liver?
