CEDAR CITY, Utah — Logistics and supply-chain firm Savage will open a new transloading facility in Southern Utah, the company has announced.
The Savage Railport-Southern Utah will be northwest of Cedar City in Iron County, Utah. Served by Union Pacific, it will provide transloading for agricultural products, construction materials, and other commodities. The new facility, to be built, owned, and operated by Savage, is expected to be open within 12 to 15 months.
“We’re excited to expand our Savage Transload Network into Southern Utah, adding to the more than 50 transload terminals we operate across North America,” Jason Ray, executive vice president and chief development officer, said in a press release. “… This transportation infrastructure investment will drive economic growth and support jobs by helping connect farmers and businesses in Cedar City, St. George, and rural communities throughout Southern Utah with broader domestic and global markets.”
