BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The New York Transit Museum’s vintage subway equipment will be featured in the 2023 “Parade of Trains” operation Sept. 9-10 on the New York City Transit B/Q lines — the former BMT Brighton line.
Trains will operate from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., operating between the Brighton Beach B/Q platform and the Kings Highway Manhattan-bound B/Q platform. A number of cars from the Transit Museum collection are scheduled to take place, including R-1/9, BMT Standard, and BU Gate cars. Rides are covered by a regular subway fare.
The Kings Highway station is fully ADA accessible, and most but not all of the vintage cars are wheelchair accessible. More information is available at the Transit Museum website.
Just like last year, one can expect a bright and sunny weekend this year in the company of the veteran subway trains putting on a great show.

A charming autumn rail event in NYC no to miss!

Last year, I evntured to NYC from Florida specifically to attend the Parade of Trains, my fourth outing. Wonderful, wonderful, except last year, the Transit Museum provided no restroom facilicities as in years past. And of course, no access at businesses. I hade to leave halfway through my one day excursion. And I.m a Transit Museum member.
“…except last year, the Transit Museum provided no restroom facilities as in years past.” At 77 Y.O., I can empathize, especially when a third rail is involved. 🙁
