This Moncton, N.B.-based company is rebuilding the cars that comprise the workhorses of VIA Rail Canada’s passenger fleet.
Some of its current projects include: rebuilding six 1950s-era Rail Diesel Cars for VIA’s remote services in Ontario and British Columbia, retrofitting 59 of VIA’s Renaissance cars for improved handicap accessibility, and rebuilding VIA’s 98 LRC cars to extend the fleet’s life 20 years.
Learn more about this Canadian rebuilder is the February 2011 issue of Trains. And for more images of the work Industrial Rail Services was performing on the Rail Diesel Cars in June 2010, check out these photos.
