The Atlas N scale GE B23-7 is back in new paint schemes and road numbers. Join Model Railroader Senior Editor Cody Grivno as he shares a brief history of the four-axle road unit and Conrail 1948; highlights the molded and factory-applied parts on the locomotive; and demonstrates the sound and light effects on the B23-7, which is equipped with an ESU LokSound V5 decoder. Then watch the Conrail unit as it hauls a gravel train over our Milwaukee, Racine & Troy State Line Route.

In addition to Conrail (white sill and as-delivered schemes), the Atlas N scale GE B23-7 is decorated for Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (blue and yellow); Finger Lakes Ry. (black, gray, and white); and Minnesota Commercial (red and white). New road numbers are offered on units decorated for Southern Ry. (“Tuxedo” scheme with high short hood). The models are available in two to three numbers per scheme; undecorated models are offered in three body styles.

Features on the N scale B23-7 include an injection-molded plastic body; directional, golden-white light-emitting-diode lighting; a low-friction mechanism with dual brass flywheels; and body-mounted Accumate couplers. Select road names in this run include working front ditch lights. Direct-current models include a factory-installed speaker.

Direct-current models are priced between $129.95 and $149.95. The price range for models with an ESU LokSound V5 decoder is $239.95 to $259.95.
