Rapido Trains recently released its bi-level commuter coaches and cab cars in HO scale. The manufacturer sent samples of its coaches to the team at Model Railroader magazine. Join Senior Editor Cody Grivno as he takes a close-up look at the ready-to-run cars.

Features on the bi-level commuter cars from Rapido Trains include a body shell with or without rivet detail, four or five windows on the lower level as appropriate, inside-bearing trucks with roller-bearing axles and metal wheelsets, tinted window glazing, and metal side grab irons. The coaches and cab cars both have constant interior lighting, and the cab car has controllable lighting. The lighting effects are compatible with direct current and Digital Command Control.

The bi-level commuter cars are priced at $99.99 (coach), $119.95 (cab car), $299.95 (coach three-pack), and $319.95 (three-car set [two coaches and one cab car]). Undecorated coaches and cab cars are available in three versions each.
