Add some flair to your layout with the Broadway Limited Imports HO SD45. The six-axle road locomotive, based on an Electro-Motive Division (EMD) prototype, is offered in both high and low short hood versions in eight paint schemes.
The Broadway Limited Imports HO scale SD45 has an injection-molded plastic body, a die-cast metal frame, all-wheel electrical pickup, and a dual-mode Paragon4 sound decoder featuring Rolling Thunder.
The six-axle road unit also has numerous prototype-specific parts, including truck sideframes, cab sunshades, dynamic brake hatch, cab window armrests, cab roof antenna, front and rear pilots, and m.u. receptacle arrangement. Our review sample, decorated for Burlington Northern, has a snow plow on the front pilot; an amber beacon, firecracker antenna, and three-chime air horn on the cab roof; Flexicoil trucks with two high-mounted brake cylinders and raised casting marks; and a printed, rectangular EMD builder’s plate.
The Broadway Limited Imports HO SD45 is decorated for Burlington Northern (Cascade Green); Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (blue and yellow warbonnet); Electro-Motive Division demonstrator (blue and white, one road number); Norfolk & Western (black, high short hood); Pennsylvania RR (Brunswick Green); Southern Ry. (“tuxedo” scheme, high short hood); Southern Pacific (scarlet and gray); and Union Pacific (Armour Yellow and Harbor Mist Gray with road name and number on long hood and shield herald on cab). Each road name is offered in two numbers unless noted. An undecorated model with a low short hood is also available.
